Making a difference
The YellowBridge Youth Matters Housing program is a unique youth housing initiative that provides housing for disadvantaged youth in the Toowoomba region.
The program provides accommodation for participants within the private rental market alongside significant, individualised case management support from a dedicated youth support case manager.
The case manager assists participants with tenancy support, job seeking assistance, education and training guidance, volunteer opportunities, access to tenancy skills training, and referral support to mental health and other relevant networks. Importantly, the case manager provides day-to-day support to navigate life’s ‘ups and downs’ which is a valuable support for vulnerable young people who lack family support.
The Youth Matters program and partnership with Hand Heart Pocket the Charity of Freemasons Queensland was celebrated on 20 July 2021 with local Freemasons, program supporters and participants at YellowBridge head office in Toowoomba.
