Alyssa Storm has found greater independence thanks to a new wheelchair ramp at her home.

Her parents, Pat and Rachel, have already noticed the difference the ramp has made to their daughter’s life.

“It is wonderful to see the joy on Alyssa’s face as she is able to come and go from our home without relying on us,” Rachel said.

“Physically, is is so much easier for us too as we have no lifting anymore.”

The ramp is the first complex modification to be completed through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funding.

YellowBridge QLD’s Home Services team worked with Alyssa’s occupational therapist and builder, All Built Up, to find the best solution to meet the Storm’s need and help Alyssa be more independent at home.

“We would like to thank the NDIA, YellowBridge QLD, All Built Up, Big C Concreting and Liz Martin for working together to make this happen,” Rachel said.
